Bexar County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Open For Enrollment (13-week program) @ 6:00 p.m.

You can enroll in this year’s Citizens Academy created by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office! The 2022 class will be from March 23rd, 2022 – June 15th, 2022, every Wednesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

During this 13-week program, you will get a better understanding of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and exactly what we do on a daily basis, as well as all the components and departments within the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Javier Salazar and deputies with the Sheriff’s Community Oriented Response & Education Unit (SCORE) will be teaching the participants about the topics and training that will be covered during the Citizen’s Academy.

During this hands-on experience, there will be guided tours of the Bexar Metropolitan 911 Regional Operations Center (Dispatch), Bexar County Jail, and the Bexar County Courthouse’s.

The topics include: Detention Operations, Criminal Investigations, Special Operations, Crisis Negotiation, Community Policing, Patrol Tactics, and will even spend a day at the BCSO Gun Range.
